According to the York Times, the device sent to the Clintons was similar to the one sent to Soros, a liberal donor who long been the target of conservative conspiracies.

Officials told ABC News the devices in packages addressed to Soros, Clinton and Obama “appear to be of similar pipe bomb-style construction.”

NBC News reported the return address on the suspicious packages sent to Soros, Clinton and belonged to Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Democrat Florida, a former Democratic National Committee official. Wasserman-Schultz’s offices in Sunrise, Florida evacuated Wednesday after a suspicious potential explosive package mailed there, local police said.

Earlier in the morning Wednesday, a representative for Castle Police Department affirmed its officers assisted Secret Service. And the FBI’s York field office after the package near the Clintons’ home.

In a statement, the FBI confirmed its Joint Terrorism Task Force “engaged with our federal, state and local partners” in the investigation.

“We condemn the attempted violent attacks recently made against President Obama, President Clinton, Secretary Clinton, and other public figures,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement.

“These interior terrorizing acts are despicable, and anyone responsible must held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. The United States Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies are investigating and will take all proper actions to protect anyone threatened by these cowards.”

Vice President Mike Pence condemned the “attempted attacks” in a tweet. retweeted Pence, adding: “I agree wholeheartedly!”
