Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET 302 to Nairobi crashes with 157 board!

An aircraft from Ethiopian Airlines type Boeing 737 commercial passenger airplane traveled to Nairobi crashed Sunday early the morning.

However, this accident happened with at least 149 passengers board plus eight additional crew reported, an Ethiopian Airline spoke person.

As we know now, Flight ET 302 crashed abruptly the town of Bishoftu, 62 kilometers southeast of the capital Addis Ababa, the airline said, confirming the plane was Boeing 737-800 MAX, registration number ET-AVJ.

The flight left Bole airport Addis Ababa at 8.38 am local time, before losing contact with the control tower just few minutes later at 8.44 am.

“Search and rescue operations are progress and we have no confirmed survivors or any possible casualties,” the airline said statement.

The prime minister’s condolences via Twitter to the families of those lost the crash, without offering further details.

State-owned Ethiopian is one of the biggest carriers the continent fleet size. It said that is expected to 10.6 million passengers last year.

Its last was January 2010, when flight from Beirut went down shortly after take-off.
